Yes, further insulation will only improve the performance of TankBlanket. We recommend TankJacket.
Reducing the heat loss, decreases the need for the sensor to activate the TankBlanket thereby conserving energy.
TankBlanket is designed to direct heat towards the surface it is mounted on, the backing only gets slightly warm.
There is no harm in placing any type of insulation over the TankBlanket. We recommend TankJacket.
