14. With sensor control why does the TankBlanket system need to be turned off?

The system MUST be turned off when there is no liquid present (empty) or when the ambient temperature rises above freezing.

The sensors built-in to TankBlanket are not designed to monitor empty tanks (air) or designed to operate when the ambient  temperature is above freezing.

For this reason all TankBlanket heater pads MUST be turned "OFF" when the tank has been emptied or ambient temperature rises and remains above freezing. For this reason we ONLY recommend that each tank (ie fresh and waste) has its own independent switched circuit to allow power to be controlled independently.
