A growing trend in the Motorhome and Caravanning community is to use vehicles all year round, and, until recently manufacturers have not built winterised leisure vehicles that allow this activity with confidence.

The basic consideration for all year round use is: Are my external pipes and tanks protected from freezing?

If the answer is 'no' then you are limited to warm weather use. Any external run of pipes and underslung tanks, that is, the fresh and waste water tanks, need to be frost protected in order for trouble free cold weather motorhoming and Caravanning.

If the answer is 'yes' then are they partially protected or fully protected?

These are internal tank probes that offer limited protection and very often are under rated for the size of tank they are protecting; and in the majority of cases the waste tank and pipe runs have no protection at all.
